The latest project on my needles has been making bunnies and bears. They have been a lot a fun to make and even more fun to give to their attended owners.
I made a bear and bunny for Alaina and a bear for Zack and a Bunny for Britney. I really enjoyed making these. The pattern is from the book “Itty-Bitty Nursery by Susan B. Anderson. I am still working my way through the book. You can see my book review by looking at the past blog entries. I found additional patterns for several other types of animals. I am looking forward to making the hippo with the pink Toto. I will let you know how that one goes. The only other strange thing I will be knitting soon is the digestive system for my daughter Tracy. Tracy is a High School science teacher. She asked if I would do this for her classroom. We found the pattern at the website “Strange But Trewe”. What FUN!
Recent adventures:
I went last week to Dallas to visit with Nancy and her family. Boy was Dallas Flat! We did a lot of family things and we went to the 6th Floor Museum. Britney and Zack were thrilled with their animals. While there we all went on a field trip with Britney’s Girl Scout troop. While sitting in the front seat I heard on of the little scouts ask Britney “What is she doing? Britney asked what she meant and then the little girl pointed to my knitting. Apparently she had never seen anyone knit before. Zack was quick to tell her I was just knitting. He also informed her I made him a bear, Britty a bunny and each of them sweater. He told her that I have made them all kinds of stuff. And if she really did not know what I was working on was a pair of socks. She was amazed that someone would be knitting. I on the other had been amazed that she had never in her life seen anyone knit before.
Here are a few of the items I have made for them:
Mom – TOOO Cute! Do you think you could make 2 more of those pacifier holders for my friend Susie’s new twins?
Love, Tracy
ps. I am really looking forward to the digestive system.
